These providers may collect and process information necessary to complete your transaction, such as your name, billing information, payment card or account information, transaction information, and other information required to process or verify your payment.
Blue Blossom Academy does not necessarily receive or store your complete payment card information when payments are processed directly by third party payment processors.
Your payment information is also subject to the privacy policies and terms of the applicable payment provider.
Teachable Payments currently uses Stripe infrastructure for its checkout and payment processing.
3. INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY
When you visit our websites or interact with our online services, certain information may be collected automatically, including:
• IP address
• Browser and device information
• Operating system
• Pages viewed
• Links clicked
• Referring websites
• Date and time of visits
• Website interactions
• Shopping and checkout activity
• Advertising and conversion information
• General location information derived from an IP address
• Cookie and similar technology identifiers
We and our service providers may collect this information through cookies, pixels, tags, analytics tools, and similar technologies.
4. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our websites, remember preferences, understand how visitors use our websites, measure website performance, process purchases, improve our services, measure advertising effectiveness, and support our marketing activities.
These technologies may include those provided through Shopify, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta/Facebook, Instagram, Teachable, and other service providers.
Google Analytics, for example, uses first party cookies to distinguish users and sessions. Shopify also describes necessary, functional, analytics, advertising, and social media/content cookies used within its ecosystem.
Depending on your location, you may be provided with options to accept, reject, or manage certain cookies and tracking technologies.
5. ANALYTICS AND ADVERTISING
We use analytics and advertising technologies to understand how our websites are used, measure the effectiveness of our advertising, improve our websites and services, and market our products and courses.
These technologies may include:
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and visitor interactions.
Google Ads
We may use Google advertising technologies to measure advertising performance, conversions, and, where permitted, provide or measure personalized advertising.
Meta/Facebook and Instagram
We may use Meta technologies, including the Meta Pixel and related advertising tools, to measure website activity, purchases, conversions, and advertising effectiveness and to help us deliver or measure advertising.
Shopify
Our ecommerce operations may use Shopify technologies that collect information concerning visits, purchases, device information, website activity, and related ecommerce interactions.
Shopify specifically explains that Meta data sharing can involve customer data and browsing behavior and can track orders and other events for traffic analysis and advertising.
Where required by applicable law, we use these technologies subject to applicable consent or opt out requirements.
6. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We may use personal information to:
• Process purchases and payments
• Create and administer customer and student accounts
• Provide access to purchased courses, products, and resources
• Fulfill orders
• Provide customer service and respond to inquiries
• Send transactional messages concerning purchases, accounts, or courses
• Send marketing communications where permitted
• Personalize and improve our websites and services
• Understand website and course usage
• Analyze business and website performance
• Measure advertising and marketing effectiveness
• Detect and prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents
• Enforce our Terms and protect our intellectual property and legal rights
• Maintain business and transaction records
• Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations
• Carry out other purposes disclosed when information is collected or with your consent
7. HOW WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION
We may disclose personal information to third parties that help us operate our business and provide our services.
These may include ecommerce platforms, course hosting platforms, payment processors, website providers, email and marketing providers, analytics providers, advertising platforms, customer support providers, technology providers, professional advisers, and other service providers.
These providers may include Teachable, Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay, Affirm, Google, and Meta, depending on how you interact with our websites and services.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, respond to lawful governmental requests, protect our rights or property, investigate fraud or security concerns, enforce our agreements, or protect the safety and rights of Blue Blossom Academy or others.
Information may also be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, sale, restructuring, or other transfer of some or all of our business or assets.
8. SALE, SHARING AND TARGETED ADVERTISING
We do not sell personal information for money.
However, certain privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” broadly. Our use of advertising, analytics, cookies, pixels, and similar technologies may constitute selling, sharing, or processing personal information for targeted or cross context behavioral advertising under certain applicable privacy laws.
Where applicable, you may have the right to opt out of these activities.
This wording is much safer than your existing blanket statement that you simply “do not sell, trade, or rent” information because Meta Pixel and advertising integrations complicate the legal meaning of “sharing.” Shopify itself provides merchants with privacy controls and data sharing opt out functionality.
9. EMAIL AND MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
If you subscribe to our email list, request information, make a purchase, or otherwise provide your email address, we may send you transactional communications relating to your account, purchase, courses, or services.
Where permitted by applicable law, we may also send marketing communications concerning Blue Blossom Academy products, courses, resources, promotions, or other information we believe may be relevant to you.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails.
Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent us from sending necessary transactional or administrative communications relating to purchases, accounts, or services.
10. THIRD PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES
Our websites and Services may contain links to or integrations with third party websites, platforms, applications, suppliers, or services.
We do not control the privacy practices of third parties. Information you provide directly to a third party is governed by that third party’s privacy policy and terms.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third party services you choose to use.
11. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, provide our services, maintain appropriate business and transaction records, comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect our legitimate business interests.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the purposes for which it is processed.
12. DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no website, electronic transmission, storage system, or method of transmitting information over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of personal information.
13. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:
• Request access to personal information we maintain about you
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of certain personal information
• Obtain information about how personal information is collected, used, or disclosed
• Opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising activities
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Appeal certain decisions concerning a privacy request where applicable
• Exercise other privacy rights provided by applicable law
These rights are subject to applicable legal exceptions and verification requirements.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
14. COOKIE AND PRIVACY CHOICES
Where applicable, visitors may manage certain cookie, advertising, or data sharing preferences through the privacy controls or cookie banner available on our websites.
You may also be able to control cookies through your browser settings and advertising preferences through the applicable third party platforms.
Disabling certain technologies may affect website functionality.
15. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our websites, courses, and Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under the age of 18
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 in circumstances prohibited by applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
